Explanation on Boys Playing with Knife Models on High Speed Rail
China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd. quickly launched an investigation into the video circulating online on July 10th showing a boy playing with a knife in the carriage of train G526. After verification, the person in the video is a student from a study tour team at a school in Beijing, holding a ticket for the G526 train from Wuhan to Beijing West on July 10th. At 14:55, the study tour team entered the station through security checks on channels 3, 4, and 5 at the east entrance of Wuhan Station. At 14:58, the student's luggage bag was found to have controlled knives on machine 3 by security personnel, and three suspected knives were opened for inspection. The student claimed to have purchased a model souvenir at the Huanghelou scenic spot, which was confirmed by security personnel as an uncut knife model. According to the first article of the "Identification Standards for Controlled Knives by the Ministry of Public Security," the first article states that "uncut knives and the tip of the knives are inverted." Various types of martial arts, crafts, gifts, and other knives with a corner radius R greater than 2.5 millimeters are not within the scope of controlled knives. Upon inspection, this toy model will be released if it meets relevant regulations. The student's mother also confirmed that the model souvenir was purchased.
During the summer transportation period, passenger flow has increased, and the railway department will comprehensively investigate safety hazards, further strengthen security checks, and block security loopholes. At the same time, passengers are kindly requested to report to railway staff and public security departments in a timely manner if they are found carrying controlled knives at railway stations, in order to jointly build a safe and civilized travel environment.
