"The school is currently replacing the classroom light switch and cafeteria air conditioning switch box, and it will be completed in the next two days." On the 28th, Li Jianke, the deputy principal of Da Er Primary School in Luozhuang Township, Renze District, Xingtai City, Hebei Province, told reporters that the classroom reconstruction work cannot be relaxed. All the busy work is to ensure that more than 500 children from surrounding villages can start school as scheduled.
"The ground of the classroom, teaching equipment and kitchen facilities were damaged to varying degrees due to water ingress on the first floor of the school during the flood season. After the water receded, the district arranged the schools not affected by the disaster to carry out voluntary mutual assistance and help desilting together." Li Jianke said that at present, the classroom ground has been completely updated, with new floor tiles and environmental disinfection and sterilization. The desks and chairs of students and teachers have also been updated in place.

"After the start of the school year, we will be boarding at the Central School in Raoyang Town for a period of time, which will bring us a different experience." For Li Shengjia, a sixth grade student at Dongcaolu Primary School in Raoyang Town, Hengshui City, the sudden boarding life made him feel very novel and he joked that he could use this opportunity to test his self-care ability.

Due to the presence of some waterlogging on the campus of Dongcaolu Primary School, the renovation period of the school building is relatively long, and the school cannot start as scheduled. The Education Bureau of Raoyang County has launched an emergency diversion plan to properly transfer students from the school to the central school in Raoyang Town and the Yaozhuang teaching point in Daguanting Town.
"These two schools have good hardware conditions and can fully accommodate teachers and students from Dongcaolu Primary School." Li Bin, the second level chief clerk of Raoyang County Education Bureau, introduced that this group of students will adopt an independent class arrangement and be taught by the original teachers to help them integrate into the new environment as soon as possible.

Simultaneously, there is also assistance work for disaster stricken students. The reporter learned from the Education Bureau of Raoyang County that they are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation of 4858 students in the flood storage and detention area, focusing on special student groups such as poverty-stricken families, low-income families, marginalized families, left behind children, and special education students. Currently, no students have been found to be trapped due to the disaster. We will provide various assistance such as psychological counseling and health guidance to these students in the future, effectively helping them return to the classroom normally after the start of school.
In the severely affected Langfang area of Hebei Province, the First Primary School in Bazhou City had already cleaned the East Teaching Building a week ago and prepared teaching desks, chairs, and benches to welcome students back to school.
The First Primary School of Bazhou City has undertaken the resettlement work for more than 500 disaster stricken students in other areas of Langfang. The school has uniformly deployed and managed the resettlement of students in the disaster area in the East Teaching Building. Currently, 10 classrooms have been arranged, and desks, chairs, lecture tables, multimedia teaching equipment, air conditioning, fans, and hygiene tools have been fully equipped.

"The school will carry out routine inspection of hardware equipment every day, and pay attention to the mental health of students. We have set up a psychological consultation room, and set up calligraphy, Paper Cuttings, art, music and other associations, hoping to provide psychological guidance and care for students." Lu Wenqing, the principal of Bazhou No. 1 Primary School, said.
As of August 22, Langfang City has received a total of 6.31 million yuan in disaster relief funds in the education sector, accounting for 7.25% of the total disaster relief funds in the province. These funds are specifically used for the repair work of public school buildings, walls, slope protection, and activity venues in the affected areas of the flood disaster. All funds have been allocated to relevant counties.
