Affected by Typhoon Du Suri, there has been sustained heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of the Ant River basin in Yanshou County. At 18:00 on August 4th, the water level at the Ant River Yanshou Hydrological Station was 100.32 meters. Many areas in the county have experienced waterlogging, and the southern embankment of Yanshou Town has ruptured. Local cadres, forest fire brigades, and volunteers who came to support have urgently invested in disaster relief work.

"This is the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center of Yanshou County, which has been transformed into a resettlement site according to the flood prevention situation. The Civil Affairs Bureau has dispatched more than 20 cadres to be stationed at different times to provide 24-hour services to the people." Huang Haiyong, the director of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Yanshou County, said that there are 31 rooms and 117 beds here. As of 9:00 on the 12th, this resettlement site has received 270 people from disadvantaged groups.

"My house is flooded, do you still have a room?" 64 year old Chen Xiaohua, a retired worker, came to the resettlement site with her sister Chen Xiujuan for consultation at noon on the 12th. The staff learned about the sisters and registered them. Subsequently, under the guidance of the staff, they received new bedding and daily necessities and moved into a room on the second floor.

At noon, the cafeteria at the resettlement site was busy and orderly. Potato stewed chicken chunks, chili fried meat, stewed oil beans, braised fish... Wang Yaling, a resident of Yanshou Town, Yanshou County, and her family of four sat around a table, with four dishes and one rice on the plate. "It's better to eat here than at home," Wang Yaling told reporters.

Wang Yaling said that her home was damaged, and her mother was punctured in her right foot by a nail in the water while packing her luggage. Fortunately, the medical staff at the resettlement site treated her mother in a timely manner, and the injury has now been relieved.

According to statistics, as of August 12th, a total of 239 dangerous situations occurred in various townships of Yanshou County during the flood season. 1147 people from departments such as housing and construction, water management, and township elite forces were organized to invest in flood prevention and disaster relief. A total of 9368 people were urgently relocated and resettled, of which 1717 were concentrated and 7651 were scattered.

When to return home is the most concerning issue for the residents of the resettlement site. Zhang Hongqi, Secretary of the Yanshou County Party Committee, said that the local government is currently urgently promoting post disaster house inspections, repairs, reinforcement, and reconstruction work, and will organize disaster affected people to return home in an orderly manner while ensuring safety.
