On August 7th, the Integrated Media Center of Xiangyin County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, announced that at around 8:00 am on August 6th, an incident occurred in the Ba Jia Bridge area of Jinhu Community, Wenxing Street, Xiangyin County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, where one person committed suicide by jumping into the river and three others were rescued, resulting in three people drowning and one person being rescued.
According to preliminary investigation, the deceased Wen was the owner of an internet cafe in Wenxing Street, Xiangyin County. The deceased Zeng and Li were both internet cafe employees, and the rescued person Liu was also an internet cafe employee.
At around 5am on the 6th, after four people, Wen, Zeng, Li Jing, and Liu Dan, had a late night snack, Wen and Zeng had a dispute, and Li Jing and Liu Dan tried to persuade them but were unsuccessful.
When a group of four people led by Wen left the night snack shop and arrived at Bajia Bridge, Zeng and Wen had a dispute and the vehicle stopped. Zeng got off the car and jumped into the river, committing suicide. Wen and three others all went into the water to rescue, resulting in a drowning incident.
After the incident, the Xiangyin County Party Committee and Government, as well as relevant departments such as emergency, public security, Wenxing Street, People's Hospital, and Blue Sky Rescue Team, rushed to the scene for emergency rescue and disposal as soon as possible.
At present, Zeng, Li, and Wen have all been salvaged and confirmed to have drowned. Liu Moudan was rescued and rushed to the county people's hospital for treatment, with no life-threatening condition. The relevant aftermath disposal and investigation work is further underway.

On the early morning of August 6th, a drowning accident occurred in Xiangyin County, Yueyang, Hunan. Three women and one man fell into the river near the Wenxing Pagoda in Zuo Zongtang Cultural Square, suspected to have died three times and injured one.
Multiple online videos of the scene of the incident show a white car parked on the roadside, with many rescue workers dressed in blue gathered at the scene. Emergency rescue vehicles were parked at the scene, and community and street workers arrived, with many onlookers.
A video shows that the body of a male deceased person has been salvaged and brought ashore, and police are handling it on site.
According to eyewitness Mr. Jiang, at around 7am on August 6th, when he passed by the scene, rescue workers were still salvaging the scene. The surrounding crowd discussed that a total of four people fell into the river. Several locals have claimed that one man and one woman had a romantic dispute and had arguments while driving.
A staff member of the Wenxing Street Office in Xiangyin County told reporters that it can be confirmed that there were three deaths and one injury. The surviving woman has been sent to the hospital for treatment. "They are all young people in their thirties, and it is said that they have all drunk alcohol. However, whether they have drunk alcohol or not still needs to be determined by the police. The police station is currently investigating." The staff member also revealed that three of the four people who fell into the river were from Hunan, and one was from another province.
Subsequently, the reporter called the Wayaowan Police Station of Xiangyin County Public Security Bureau, and a staff member stated that the incident is still under investigation, and the specific situation cannot be disclosed at present.
