Two men have been arrested by Hong Kong police on suspicion of sponsoring anti China and Hong Kong riots
The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force arrested two men, aged 33 and 59 respectively, in Tai Po District today. They are suspected of violating Article 29 of the Hong Kong National Security Law on the crime of "colluding with foreign or foreign forces to endanger national security" and Article 19 of the Public Security Ordinance, Chapter 245 of the Hong Kong Laws, on the crime of "conspiring to incite others to participate in riots".
The police searched the residences of two arrested individuals and another person involved in the case according to a court warrant, and seized evidence related to computers, electronic communication tools, and other items related to the case or that could be used for illegal purposes.
The police investigation shows that the arrested person is suspected of colluding with the 612 Humanitarian Support Fund, accepting donations from different overseas organizations, and providing financial support to some organizations that support fugitives overseas or promote sanctions against Hong Kong.
