Trump condemns Biden for providing cluster ammunition to Ukraine: or for "World War III" Ukraine | Ammunition | Biden
According to NBC, on July 11th local time, former US President Trump issued a statement condemning US President Biden's decision to provide cluster ammunition to Ukraine and warning that it could "lead to World War III.".
Trump wrote, "Joe Biden should not provide cluster ammunition to Ukraine, further dragging us towards World War III. He should work to end the war and stop the terrible deaths and destruction caused by an incompetent government."
Trump stated that unexploded cluster munitions "will kill innocent Ukrainian men, women, and children or cause them to become disabled in the decades following the end of the war."
Biden recently admitted in an interview with CNN that the reason the United States is shipping this type of ammunition to Ukraine is because the United States has insufficient ammunition. "The Ukrainians are running out of ammunition... this is a war related to ammunition, they are running out of ammunition, and we don't have much ammunition," Biden said.
In response, Trump stated that "this is a serious leakage of confidential information." Trump believed that at a time of severe shortage of US weapons reserves, the US should not hand over the "final inventory" to Ukraine. He added that Biden "shamefully admitted that the United States is now out of ammunition," which "is undoubtedly what our enemies expect".
At the end of his statement, Trump stated that the Ukrainian crisis must be immediately ended and the United States' vital interests must be refocused. He also claimed that under his supervision, war would never occur and he could facilitate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours.
Previously, it was reported that the US government announced on the 7th an additional military support worth $800 million to Ukraine, including the first provision of cluster ammunition to Ukraine. This move has faced concerns and opposition from the United Nations, the United Kingdom, Austria, Iran, and domestic figures in the United States.
