In the first half of 2023, the national network information system focused on key and comprehensive measures, investigated and dealt with various illegal and irregular behaviors online in accordance with the law. A total of 5518 websites were interviewed, 188 websites were suspended or updated, 120 mobile applications were taken down, 87 mini programs were shut down, and the telecommunications regulatory department cancelled the license or filing of illegal websites, closed 7704 illegal websites, and urged relevant website platforms to close 39100 illegal and irregular accounts in accordance with the law.
Online information departments at all levels, in combination with the "Qinglang" series of special actions, further strengthened law enforcement, and legally closed a number of websites without permission, such as the "New Era Party Building News Network" and the "Party and Government Theory Network", which illegally carried out Internet news information services and seriously disrupted the order of network communication; Close website platforms such as "Qianku.com" and "Leyou Download Station" that provide download services for pornographic mobile applications; Remove a batch of mobile applications that spread pornographic information, such as "Apple Live" and "Iren APP Color Edition", in accordance with the law; Urge relevant website platforms to dispose of a batch of accounts that violate the law by publishing virtual currency information, such as @ Caijing KK and "Coin Rise Speculators", in accordance with the agreement; Urge relevant website platforms to dispose of accounts such as @ Jinyang Jyan and "Chief Guo Ge" that have published false information and violated public order and good customs in accordance with the law and agreement.
In view of the information problems that are prohibited from being published or transmitted by laws and regulations on website platforms such as Tiktok and Sina Weibo, the National Cyberspace Office instructed the local Cyberspace Office to interview the person in charge of relevant websites according to law, order them to rectify within a time limit, dispose of relevant accounts, severely deal with the person in charge, and impose fines and administrative penalties respectively.
In view of the failure of Kwai, Baidu, Tencent WeChat, NetEase and other network platforms to perform their main responsibilities, and the failure to fulfill their obligations to manage the information released by their users, which has caused the spread of harmful information on the Internet, such as obscene porn, feudal superstition, induced recharge, and defending bad artists, the National Cyberspace Office has instructed the local Cyberspace Office to interview the person in charge of relevant websites according to law, order them to rectify within a time limit, dispose of relevant accounts, strictly deal with the person in charge, and impose fines and administrative penalties respectively.
In response to the issue of new technologies and applications with strong public opinion attributes and social mobilization capabilities being launched without evaluation, measures will be taken to remove and dispose of mobile applications such as "Seagull" and "Shi Mi Da" in accordance with the law. Seventeen mobile applications, including "Yuanqi Knight" and "Kesong", which have completed rectification, will be restored and put on shelves, and relevant local Cyberspace Administration will be required to strengthen supervision and management in accordance with the law.
