The World Games is an international sports event hosted by the International Association of World Games, first held in 1981. In May 2019, Chengdu was awarded the right to host the 2025 World Games. According to Gao Suo, the 11 day Chengdu World Games will include 35 major events and 58 sub events, with an expected participation of over 5000 athletes from 100 to 110 countries and regions.
