This town has new measures for managing fire safety, helping rural revitalization
Entering Yaolu Village in Xuanqiao Town, Pudong New Area, passing through a clean and tidy courtyard, fire safety signs can be seen everywhere. The village committee's 24-hour duty mini fire station, volunteer electrical maintenance team, unified conduit protection of electrical circuits, 1:1 ratio outdoor charging interface, and increasingly strong fire safety atmosphere all make the villagers here feel safer and happier. It is reported that since the beginning of this year, residential fires in Xuanqiao Town have decreased by 17.69% year-on-year.
The Huinan Fire Rescue Brigade in Pudong New Area adheres to "basic upgrading, dynamic supervision, and intelligent prevention and control", and promotes the construction of "smart fire" in Yaolu Village. "We focus on families of elderly people living alone at the age of 65, and provide free installation of independent smoke detectors for elderly people living alone. This ensures that in the event of a fire or smoke alarm, it can sound an alarm and send fire alarm information to multiple bound groups simultaneously through mobile SMS." The relevant person in charge of the brigade explained.
So far, 16 elderly households living alone in Yaolu Village have installed independent smoke detectors in their homes. "This measure has also spread to the town area of Xuanqiao Town, benefiting a total of 322 elderly households living alone," the person in charge said.
In order to help elderly people living alone in rural areas improve their awareness of fire safety and escape ability, the Xuanqiao Town government also collaborates with the village neighborhood committee, first level micro stations, fire volunteers, fire rescue teams, and fire prevention teams at the fire station to adopt various methods of assistance and control. Through layered and segmented management, the number and distribution of elderly people living alone in the jurisdiction are grasped, and graded management is carried out based on their living habits and action ability characteristics.
The staff also regularly visit to popularize fire safety knowledge and help clean up flammable piles at home. At the same time, Yaolu Village has also established mechanisms such as micro station emergency mutual assistance, volunteer emergency mutual assistance, and neighborhood emergency mutual assistance for elderly people living alone. Once a fire occurs, it can quickly respond and dispose of it in a timely manner, providing a fire safety umbrella for elderly people living alone.
In addition to elderly people living alone, the investigation of electrical hazards in residential homes is also a highly professional task. It is difficult for law enforcement agencies to achieve precise investigation and management alone. "There are mainly five difficulties: it is difficult to see hidden dangers in the power lines with the naked eye and professional electrical equipment is needed; knowing the hidden dangers but not the specific location; hiring professional electricians for troubleshooting is too expensive; electrical applications are widespread, involving social units and households, making maintenance and management difficult; in addition, the cost of installing line monitoring equipment in completed buildings is high, making it difficult to rewire," said the person in charge.
To effectively solve this problem, Xuanqiao Town has established an "Xuanqiao Town Emergency Team for Eliminating Electrical Hazards" consisting of more than 20 electrician volunteers from various industries in society, to conduct electrical circuit hazard investigation and maintenance for vulnerable groups such as widows and low-income families aged 65 and above.
In addition, hidden dangers such as illegal indoor charging and indoor parking of electric bicycles have always been a long-term potential and difficult problem to solve in rural areas. "We have put in a combination of punches, and while investigating and punishing the phenomenon, we have turned our attention to the source." The person in charge introduced that the Huinan Fire Rescue Brigade and the town government are vigorously promoting the construction of electric bicycle charging interfaces. At present, there are approximately 1087 new charging interfaces added in the Yaolu Village area of Xuanqiao Town, and the ratio of the number of interfaces to the number of electric bicycles has reached a 1:1 ratio, achieving full coverage of charging facilities. According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, residential fires in Xuanqiao Town have decreased by 17.69% year-on-year, and electric bicycle fires have achieved zero occurrence, a 100% year-on-year decrease.
Next, the Huinan Fire Rescue Brigade in Pudong New Area will take the pilot project of Yaolu Village as a model project, continuously deepen the comprehensive management of grassroots fire safety, and promote new progress in fire protection work.
