This national level "green factory" is doing this to promote green and low-carbon transformation and development
Shanghai Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Medical Technology Co., Ltd. is located in Pudong, mainly engaged in the research and production of interventional medical devices for the aorta and peripheral blood vessels. As of March 2023, they have obtained more than 270 authorized patents both domestically and internationally, of which more than 150 are invention patents. They have also won the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award and the National Science and Technology Progress Award multiple times.
7 products enter the "green channel" for national innovative medical device approval
As a leading enterprise in China's aortic intervention medical devices, Xinmai Medical has incorporated green and sustainable development into its business philosophy since its establishment, gradually establishing management systems for environment, energy, quality, etc., and comprehensively identifying and controlling factors that affect the environment in the production process.
Xinmai Medical always adheres to the innovative concept of "either first or only". At present, 7 listed and under research products have been approved to enter the national innovation medical device approval "green channel". Intraaortic intervention products have a market share of 29% in the domestic market, ranking first in the Chinese market, breaking the monopoly of foreign investment in this field and gradually achieving import substitution. In just over 10 years, with their persistence in technological innovation, they have gained a foothold in the field of aortic intervention medical devices and become a leading enterprise in the domestic aortic intervention industry.
Establish a collaborative control platform for the entire product lifecycle
It is reported that Xinmai Medical has established a comprehensive product lifecycle collaborative control platform since 2020, taking into account the green concept in product research and development design, production, and backend emissions, in order to comprehensively reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Firstly, adopting the modular design concept in product design, universal modules are designed according to production needs to meet different production management needs. This not only reduces costs, but also reduces resource loss and waste, thus achieving green and environmentally friendly design processes.
Secondly, in the production and manufacturing process, intelligent manufacturing is the focus of upgrading the production line, and a digital management platform is built to detect, measure, and monitor key processes in the production process, and regularly diagnose them. At the same time, they have also achieved data visualization. By collecting and analyzing data, production and management methods can be adjusted according to demand, improving production efficiency and resource allocation efficiency, thereby reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

It is understood that Xinmai Medical has achieved the digitization of data throughout the entire production process, reducing approximately 30000 paper forms and 40000 paper labels annually, achieving paperless equipment management and electronic data. This not only improves production efficiency but also reduces the use of resources, ultimately achieving a reduction in carbon emissions. In addition, factory specific production equipment has also been automated, greatly improving production efficiency and reducing resource waste in the production process, thereby achieving energy-saving and efficiency improvement.
In terms of backend emission management, Xinmai Medical adopts different treatment methods for different pollutants emitted during the production process. For sewage, the company has established a sewage treatment plant for centralized disposal, and regularly tests the pollution factors in the wastewater to ensure compliance with discharge standards; For the exhaust gas generated by the factory, activated carbon is used for adsorption treatment and then discharged at high altitude through the exhaust pipe; For solid waste, entrust qualified units to handle the waste to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
Play a demonstrative role as a national level "green factory"

It is understood that Xinmai Medical established an energy management system in the early stages, which can monitor the energy usage of factories in real time. They replaced the production of general equipment with more environmentally friendly and energy-saving equipment. Through multiple energy-saving measures such as upgrading green lighting and constructing new energy facilities, they reduced electricity consumption in the production process, optimized the energy consumption structure, and thus reduced investment in non renewable energy. For example, replacing diesel forklifts with electric forklifts, using solar street lights instead of traditional street lights, and constructing new energy charging facilities.
In 2022, Xinmai Medical obtained the national level green factory certification. In the future, Xinmai Medical will continue to deeply practice the concept of green development, adhere to the responsibility of green and sustainable development, and always integrate "energy conservation, consumption reduction, and green manufacturing" throughout the entire product life cycle. It will actively play the demonstration role of a national level "green factory", make greater contributions to the construction of a green manufacturing system in the country, and help achieve the "dual carbon" goal as soon as possible.
