He graduated from the History Department of Lanzhou University in July 1987, joined the National Archives Administration in July 1987, and joined the CPC in February 1996. Gao Zai has served as the Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the National Archives Office of the Central Archives, the Assistant Researcher, Deputy Director, Researcher, and Assistant Inspector of the Comprehensive Research Office of the Secretariat of the Central Office, the Assistant Director, Deputy Inspector, Deputy Director, and Deputy Director of the Special Accounting Office of the Central Office, as well as the Director of the Central Gift and Cultural Relics Management Center, the Director of the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall Management Bureau of the Central Office, and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Bureau. In August this year, he was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Central Archives and the Deputy Director of the National Archives Administration.
