On the noon of July 11th, the Solomon Islands Embassy in China held its opening ceremony in Beijing. Solomon Islands Prime Minister Menasi Sogavare, who is currently visiting China, attended the ceremony.
On September 21, 2019, the foreign ministers of China and the Solomon Islands held talks in Beijing and signed the Joint Communique on Establishing Diplomatic Relations between the People's Republic of China and the Solomon Islands. More than half a month later, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Sogavare made his first state visit to China. During this period, Solomon Islands officially joined the "the Belt and Road" initiative.

This is Sogavare's second visit to China after four years. From July 9th to 15th, Sogavare and his delegation in the fields of diplomacy, commerce, and other fields plan to visit multiple cities in Beijing, Jiangsu, and Guangdong, and visit multiple enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities.
The Solomon Islands are located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and have a population of approximately 720000. Rich tourism, fishery, and agricultural resources. Sogavare has also repeatedly expressed the hope that the two countries can further strengthen exchanges at all levels and deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, technology, sustainable development, and education. I believe this visit will achieve positive results.
