This Chechen commander is not dead! Chairman of the Russian Duma debunked rumors about Ukraine | Jelimkhanov | Commander
According to Reuters, the President of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodyn, said on June 14th that the senior commander of the Chechen forces, Adam Jelimkhanov, is still alive and in good condition. There have been reports that Jelimkhanov was killed or injured in battle in Ukraine.
According to reports, Jelimkhanov is a member of the Russian State Duma and also serves as the commander of the Chechen unit of the Russian National Guard. He is considered the highest official in the Chechen region, second only to Ramzan Kadyrov.
Volodyn said to the members of the Russian State Duma, "I just spoke to him. He is still alive and in good condition. Not only that, he also wishes everyone good health."
According to the report, TASS News Agency in Russia quoted another Chechen military commander as saying that Jelymhanov is currently in Chechnya, not Ukraine.
According to previous reports from Reuters, Red Star Television, a subsidiary of the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported on June 14th that a senior commander of the Chechen forces fighting in Ukraine was injured.
Earlier that day, Ukrainian media reported that Jelimkhanov died from Ukrainian military shelling in the southern region of Ukraine.
Chechen leader Kadyrov stated on the "Telegraph" social media platform that he was unable to contact Jelimkhanov.
Reuters pointed out that Jelymhanov played an important role in Russia's special military operations against Ukraine, having commanded Chechen forces in Mariupol in the early stages of the conflict.
