They stick to the front line -- the flood control scene in Beijing Tianjin Hebei, people in the rainstorm | rain | Beijing Tianjin Hebei
Since July 29, rainstorm or heavy rainstorm has occurred in Beijing Tianjin Hebei and other places, and extremely heavy rainstorm has occurred locally, posing challenges to urban operation. Flood control departments in various regions of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei have taken action upon hearing of the flood, sticking to the front line and making every effort to answer the flood control exam papers.
At 11:45 on July 29th, Beijing Drainage Group launched a special flood control response. The personnel at all levels of the Group Flood Control Command are on duty to command, and relevant personnel from each branch are on duty. All personnel from the water plant and pump station are on duty.
"There are leaves here, let's quickly clean them up." On Chunxiu Road near the East Second Ring Road in Beijing, Shao Songsong and his colleagues grabbed the garbage and leaves from the rainwater grates one by one. "This pipeline is still unobstructed. If there is already water accumulation, we will need to use professional equipment for treatment," said Shao Songsong.
Shao Songsong is the deputy team leader of the second operation team of Beijing Drainage Group's First Pipeline Network Branch. During this rainfall process, Shao Songsong's team was divided into several emergency units and he was appointed as the unit leader of the inspection unit. In addition to being responsible for patrolling the road surface and inspecting rainwater outlets, he also needs to communicate information with the streets, communities, and police within his jurisdiction, handle various hotline feedback on water accumulation tasks, and always follow the dispatch of the branch company's command center. In case of water accumulation danger, he must immediately depart. "From noon on July 29th to noon on July 31st, we handled 23 'hotline tasks' alone, and during the 48 hour duty period, my hair hardly dried," said Shao Songsong.
The streets are bustling with traffic and pedestrians are in a hurry. Due to the ever-changing rain conditions, Shao Songsong and his colleagues were always on duty, taking turns arranging meal times. When the rain was light, they took the time to rest and charge their phones and devices. "Although it's tough, it's also our responsibility."

A few days ago, affected by rainstorm, the water level of the local river in Chengnanzhuang Town, Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province rose, and many bridges were damaged. At around 8 pm on July 30th, the 10kV Malan 547 line under the jurisdiction of Chengnanzhuang Power Supply Station of State Grid Fuping County Power Supply Company experienced a power outage due to a malfunction. After receiving the notice, Li Xuewei, the field team leader who has been on duty at the power supply station, immediately led the repair personnel to drive and divided into two groups to investigate the cause of the fault along the line.
The rainstorm outside the repair car kept on, and it was difficult to walk in the dark. All the way to Mapeng Village, we found that the only overflow bridge leading to the village had been flooded by the swollen river, and the vehicle could not pass. Li Xuewei, who has over 20 years of experience in emergency repairs, made a decisive decision and said, "Get off the car, let's carry our tools and walk over to find the cause of the malfunction."
Li Xuewei and the repair personnel tied the repair rope around their waists, pulling and pulling each other forward, each step struggling.
After walking for about half an hour, accompanied by the flickering flashlight, Li Xuewei noticed an abnormal situation on the hillside. He quickly led everyone to climb the hillside and confirmed that the trees near pole 141 of the main line had collapsed, causing the line to be smashed and broken.
Due to the location of the accident in a mountainous area and the complex construction environment, coupled with continuous heavy rain and muddy mountain roads, the difficulty of emergency repair has sharply increased. Ignoring the wet clothes and muddy clothes, Li Xuewei commanded the repair personnel to go through a tough battle. At 9:34 pm, the power supply to the line was restored to normal. After repairing the power supply malfunction in nearby homes, the group returned at midnight.
It is reported that State Grid Baoding Power Supply Company has launched a 24-hour emergency duty, with more than 2200 on duty personnel and 53 repair teams stationed on the front line of flood control emergency. In response to the risk of flooding in remote areas of mountainous counties, the power supply company has placed flood prevention and repair materials in 29 power supply stations in advance, including 4 large power generation vehicles, 58 generators, and 996 emergency drainage equipment.

In order to ensure the safe and convenient travel of passengers, the Tianjin subway department has taken action in response to the flood and built a strong safety line. Wang Lei, the director of the first comprehensive maintenance room for the electromechanical system of Tianjin Metro Group's Metro Line 6, has been on duty for several days, inspecting the air shaft, outdoor cooling tower, and main wastewater pump room inside the station, and promptly confirming and dealing with problems discovered through monitoring.
Tianjin Metro Line 6 has 39 stations, with long lines and multiple locations, making flood prevention a heavy task. Wang Lei and more than 40 colleagues formed 8 emergency rescue teams, which were on duty 24 hours a day, ready to carry out emergency drainage operations.
Wang Lei said, "Before the arrival of rainfall, we organized professional personnel to prepare flood prevention materials in advance, coordinated emergency vehicles, arranged personnel reasonably, and prepared for long-term continuous response to the flood situation, fully ensuring the safe operation of subway lines under heavy rainfall weather."
In recent days, various districts and departments in Tianjin have been continuously fighting, keeping watch day and night, working together and actively responding to heavy rainfall. The Tianjin Flood Control and Drought Relief Command organized rolling consultations and judgments with meteorological, water and other departments, and reported the flood situation to more than 10000 flood control responsible persons at all levels such as the city, district, and township. It urged all districts to increase the reinforcement of dangerous sections of embankments and the transportation of materials, and to implement professional forces to strengthen embankment patrols and inspections.
