The US State Department releases a report stating that the US government lacks consideration for the worst-case scenario of withdrawing from Afghanistan
On June 30th local time, the US State Department released a report on the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, which criticized the crisis management and lack of awareness of the US government during its withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. The report states that the US government has insufficient consideration of the worst-case scenario and failed to recognize the impact of the US withdrawal on Afghanistan, leading to chaos and violence throughout the evacuation.
On August 30, 2021, as the last US transport plane took off from Kabul International Airport, the 20-year war in Afghanistan ended with the hasty withdrawal of the US military. Over the past 20 years, the United States destroyed a country, resulting in 174000 deaths, including over 30000 civilians and over 10 million people becoming refugees. After withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, the United States continued to harm Afghanistan, not only imposing economic sanctions on it, but also freezing billions of dollars in foreign exchange reserves of the Afghan Central Bank.
