The Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security has issued a safety notice, stating that there have been three consecutive bus traffic accidents recently
Recently, there have been consecutive bus traffic accidents in Zhejiang, Shanxi, Henan and other areas, causing multiple casualties. On the evening of August 25th, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security issued a safety notice.
At around 20:10 on August 24, 2023, a large bus operated by Sichuan Guangyun Group Jiange Co., Ltd. collided with the central guardrail of the highway while driving from east to west along the Xinyang section of the Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway in Henan, at a distance of 914 kilometers and 200 meters. Due to improper measures taken to avoid the accident vehicle ahead, it overturned and collided, resulting in 3 deaths and 3 injuries on the bus.
At about 17:24 on August 23, 2023, a shuttle bus of Shanxi Automobile Transportation Group Xinzhou Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd. went from Taiyuan to Xinzhou Mount Wutai Scenic Area, and drove to the 322km plus 366m of Xinzhou section of Cangyu Expressway in Shanxi. When the bus got out of control, it first collided with the left curb, then collided with the wall in front of the right emergency parking belt, and finally stopped on the road transversely. The front of the bus was severely deformed, causing 5 deaths and 22 injuries on the bus. At present, the cause of the accident is still under further investigation. In addition, according to the investigation, the bus involved in the accident is suspected of being involved in affiliated operations, and the vehicle's dynamic monitoring has been continuously offline recently.
At around 11:45 am on August 7, 2023, a large bus from Zhejiang Wenzhou Transportation Group Taishun Co., Ltd. departed from Wenzhou South Bus Station to Luoyang Town, Taishun County. While driving on the section of Provincial Highway S331, which is 19 kilometers and 150 meters away from Yayang Town, Taishun County, the vehicle collided with the green belt on the right side of the road and overturned, resulting in one death and two injuries on the bus. After investigation, it was found that the driver of the bus used wireless Bluetooth to communicate with others and did not ensure safe driving out of the road when overtaking, which was the direct cause of the accident.
In the three accidents, the vast majority of passengers used seat belts, effectively avoiding more serious casualties.
Here, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security reminds passenger transport enterprises to strictly fulfill their safety main responsibility, strictly implement vehicle dynamic monitoring management, driver safety education, and daily vehicle maintenance systems, and ensure transportation safety. Bus drivers should abide by the law, drive safely, and in a civilized manner, improve their emergency response capabilities, and eliminate serious illegal behaviors such as fatigue driving, overcrowding, speeding, and distracted driving. Passengers should remember "seat belts and life belts", fasten seat belts as soon as they get on the train, and ensure that all passengers wear them properly throughout the journey.
