On August 16, 2023, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhu Fenglian, answered questions from reporters. Q: According to reports, the Ministry of Commerce recently announced the implementation of temporary anti-dumping measures against imports of polycarbonate from Taiwan. Please explain the situation. Zhu Fenglian: It is understood that on October 8, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce received an anti-dumping investigation application submitted by relevant businesses in mainland China.Based on the investigation results and relevant laws and regulations, the Ministry of Commerce issued a preliminary determination notice on August 14, 2023, determining that polycarbonate originating from Taiwan is subject to dumping and deciding to implement temporary anti-dumping measures in the form of a deposit against the above-mentioned products. This is a normal anti-dumping investigation case, and the competent authorities will conduct further investigations in strict accordance with the principles of fairness and impartiality, laws and regulations, and make a final ruling. I hope that the involved enterprises will actively cooperate and expand the mainland market in a lawful and compliant manner.
