The Soviet emblem on the Kyiv "Motherland" statue has been replaced with the Trident emblem | Ukraine | Soviet Union
According to foreign media reports, recently, the Soviet emblem on the statue of "Mother Motherland" in Kiev, Ukraine has been replaced with the trident on the Ukrainian national emblem.
Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Kublakov stated on social media on July 14th that the Ukrainian State Administration for Architecture and Urban Planning had approved the Kyiv City Government to replace the Soviet emblem on the Kyiv "Mother of the Motherland" statue with the trident on the Ukrainian national emblem.
Since Russia launched a special military operation against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Ukraine has taken a series of measures to accelerate its de Russification. Many buildings and monuments related to the Soviet Union and Russia have been demolished in public places in Ukraine, and urban streets have been renamed after Ukrainian historical figures, artists, poets, and soldiers.
