After 18 hours, all missing tourists were found. The reporter learned that at 15:58 on August 6th, Ms. He, who was far away in Guangdong, called the command center of the Haixi Prefecture Public Security Bureau to report to the police, stating that her mother and a group of 8 people were trapped in a deserted area during their trip to Qinghai. Among them, 4 elderly people and 2 children were in a business vehicle that malfunctioned and there was no water or food on board. The vehicle was roughly located in the direction of the 315 National Highway towards Lenghu. After receiving her mother's text message, everyone's phone, including her, remained unreachable. After receiving the alarm call, the command center of Haixi Prefecture Public Security Bureau immediately transferred the police to Mangya City Public Security Bureau.

After learning of the situation, the Public Security Bureau of Haixi Prefecture deployed the Public Security Bureau of Mangya City and the Public Security Bureau of Dachaidan to conduct search and rescue operations from the directions of Lenghu and Chaidan respectively, and the Police Aviation Detachment prepared for the flight. The main leaders of the Mangya Municipal Party Committee and Government, the Dachaidan Working Committee and the Executive Committee attach great importance to rescue work, convene relevant departments to make work arrangements, and timely follow up on rescue progress.

The Mangya City Public Security Bureau quickly analyzed and judged the deviation of vehicles from the road and the approximate area of being trapped. Eight police officers were dispatched, driving two police cars, carrying drones, satellite phones, necessary supplies, and emergency supplies, and immediately rushed to the area. During this period, several families of stranded tourists called the state public security bureau and the Mangya City public security bureau, feeling extremely excited and anxious. State and city public security organs, while providing emotional comfort to family members, rely on synthetic warfare to analyze and judge the location of vehicles trapped.

After 5 hours of searching, police officers from the Mangya City Public Security Bureau discovered a tourist's commercial vehicle on the abandoned Chalong Road while driving, hiking, and observing from a high altitude. However, there was no trace of anyone in the surrounding area. Through drone patrols, police discovered missing individuals in an area about 5 kilometers away from the vehicle, and the drone screen showed that the missing individuals were temporarily safe. Due to terrain and topography, the police car was unable to reach the location of the missing person, and the police immediately walked towards that location.

At around 21:00, the sky on Mangya had not completely darkened, but the uninhabited area was rugged and complex with no reference points. In addition, the long search work brought great difficulties for hiking, and the police were afraid that they might have deviated from the direction of tourists. At around 22:00, rescue police found 4 adults and 2 children among them, and learned that the other 2 people had gone to search for Highway 315 on their own.

The rescue police immediately divided into two groups. One group escorted six tourists to the parking area of the vehicle, while the other group continued to search for the other two people. At the same time, the Mangya Public Security Bureau continued to dispatch 5 police vehicles with good off-road performance, 20 civilian auxiliary police officers, and mobilized 1 loader to join forces with fire rescue and medical personnel to rush to rescue, racing against time and expanding the scope, and continuing to seize the opportunity to search and rescue. The 14 police forces dispatched by Dachaidan Public Security continue to conduct synchronized search and rescue operations in relevant areas, and the command center of the state bureau promptly coordinates and commands the search and rescue situation of the two public security organs. At 0:40 on August 7th, two other tourists were also found, and all personnel gathered in the vehicle parking area to work together to drag the business vehicle out of the sand.

During the escort of tourists back to the Cold Lake Police Station, due to the complex terrain of the uninhabited area, rescue personnel encountered multiple difficulties and obstacles while walking and driving. Each rescue team assisted and cooperated with each other, successfully completing the rescue mission. After examination by medical staff, 8 tourists were found to be in good physical condition.

The rescue lasted nearly 18 hours, and the public security organs in Mangya and Chaidan deployed more than 50 police officers in four batches to participate in the search and rescue.
