Today, China Eastern Airlines officially received its second domestically produced C919 large passenger aircraft in Shanghai. At 10 a.m., the plane was transferred from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, officially joining the Eastern Airlines fleet. The arrival of a new C919 aircraft marks the acceleration of China Eastern Airlines' commercial operation of C919 large passenger planes.
It is reported that the C919 large passenger aircraft received by China Eastern Airlines this time is the second of the first batch of 5 C919 aircraft purchased by China Eastern Airlines, and the cabin layout is consistent with the first aircraft.
On July 14th, the East China Regional Administration of Civil Aviation issued the nationality registration certificate, airworthiness certificate, and radio station license for the second C919 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines, marking that the aircraft has obtained commercial operation qualifications and meets the airworthiness requirements of civil aviation regulations. According to China Eastern Airlines' plan, the second C919 will partner with the first aircraft and be first deployed on the China Eastern Airlines' Shanghai Hongqiao Chengdu Tianfu air express line, gradually expanding more routes in the future.
As the world's first user of domestically produced C919 large passenger aircraft, China Eastern Airlines officially received the world's first delivery of C919 on December 9, 2022; On May 28, 2023, China Eastern Airlines successfully completed the round-trip flight of the first commercial flight of C919, "Shanghai Hongqiao - Beijing Capital". Since then, this C919 has served passengers on the Shanghai Chengdu Express. As of July 12th, the first C919 has operated a total of 87 commercial flights, including 2 flights from Beijing to Shanghai and 85 flights from Shanghai to Chengdu, with an average passenger load factor of nearly 80%. It has served a total of 11095 passengers and operated for a total of 250.10 hours in commercial operations.
After the first C919 delivery aircraft was put into operation, due to considerations such as on-site training and planned maintenance, it may not appear on commercial flights every day to transport passengers who wish to visit. After the second C919 made its debut on the Shanghai Chengdu Express, passengers will have more options to experience domestic large planes on China Eastern Airlines flights.
According to China Eastern Airlines, from the beginning of the commercial operation of the C919, the "Four Refinements" service concept of "precision, delicacy, and delicacy - excitement" has been deeply integrated in various service links: providing the C919 aircraft with "Nine" series themed meals, customized commemorative paper cups, cleaning bags, and equipped with exclusive aviation safety instructions videos with Chinese characteristics. Starting from July 1st, China Eastern Airlines will launch new meals for C919 flights, adding Shanghai style aviation meals such as Benbang smoked fish and Benbang butterfly pastry to enhance passengers' boarding experience.
