China's statement: China and Russia's move does not target third parties
According to the website of the Wall Street Journal on August 7th, a joint fleet of Russian and Chinese navies recently conducted patrols near the coast of Alaska in the United States. American experts say that this time the scale appears to be the largest among such fleets that have been close to the US coast.
According to US officials, a total of 11 Russian and Chinese ships have sailed near the Aleutian Islands. These Chinese and Russian ships did not enter US territorial waters and later left. During this period, the United States dispatched four destroyers and P-8 "Sea God" maritime patrol aircraft for tracking and surveillance.
According to reports, the Russian Ministry of Defense previously stated that Russian and Chinese ships conducted exercises, including communication training, helicopters taking off and landing on each other's ship decks, and joint anti submarine exercises in the southwestern Bering Sea. They discovered and destroyed a simulated target during the exercise.
The Russian Ministry of Defense added that since the start of the joint cruise, the relevant warships have sailed over 2300 nautical miles, including operations in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.
According to reports, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States stated that this patrol is not aimed at the United States.
Embassy spokesperson Liu Pengyu stated that according to the annual cooperation plan between the Chinese and Russian militaries, the naval vessels of the two countries recently conducted joint maritime patrols in relevant waters in the western and northern Pacific Ocean. This action is not aimed at third parties and has nothing to do with the current international and regional situation.
