It is reported that the 2023 college entrance examination in Beijing was successfully completed from June 7th to 10th, with over 58000 candidates taking the exam. The grading work started on June 8th and is expected to end on the 24th. During this period, Beijing organized 1520 teachers to review papers at six evaluation points, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Capital Normal University, Beijing Second Institute of Foreign Languages, and Beijing University of Technology.

Strict selection of grading teachers and requirements for grading discipline

The teaching staff for the 2023 Beijing College Entrance Examination consists of university teachers, teaching and research personnel from various districts, and middle school teachers. Each evaluation point, university, and district education commission shall strictly review and control, actively select personnel with high ideological and political qualities, strong disciplinary and professional abilities, strong security and confidentiality awareness, and rich experience to participate in the evaluation work. Emphasis has been placed on increasing the recommendation and selection of special grade teachers, senior professional title teachers, municipal subject teaching leaders, and municipal backbone teachers, maintaining the stability of the grading team, especially the backbone strength.

All staff members who participated in the evaluation have signed the "Security and Confidentiality Agreement for College Entrance Examination Evaluation Staff", requiring strict compliance with the requirements of the college entrance examination evaluation work.

Strict grading procedures and strengthened quality monitoring

According to the relevant person in charge of the Beijing Education Examination Institute, the 2023 Beijing college entrance examination evaluation work has strengthened the standardized management and quality monitoring of the evaluation work.

One is to use encryption to hide candidate information after scanning the answer sheet. Objective questions are automatically recognized by the scoring system and scored directly based on standard answers. After cutting the subjective question images into sections according to the questions, they are randomly distributed to the relevant grading teacher accounts through the grading system. Each grading teacher is only responsible for distributing and reviewing the questions, and cannot see the entire test paper of the candidate.

Secondly, before the formal evaluation, the subject evaluation team organizes group leaders or above of each question group to concentrate on studying and researching the "Answers and Rating Standards", and unify their understanding through trial evaluation. Organize all grading teachers to receive professional training, so that each comrade can master the grading standards and rules, and prevent the occurrence of biased, strict, or inconsistent grading.

The third is to promptly report any abnormal situations such as irregular or identical papers discovered during the grading process. For exam questions with different scores, the disciplinary grading team must collectively discuss and reach a consensus before determining the handling plan.

The fourth is to implement a "back-to-back double evaluation" for all subject test questions, and conduct three or four evaluations for those whose double evaluations exceed the threshold. The grading experts conduct a certain proportion of spot checks on the quality of the grading every day, and recheck all arbitration papers that have undergone three or four evaluations to ensure that the evaluation of each answer is scientific, objective, fair, and just.

Fifthly, after the evaluation of each subject is completed, a dedicated person will be organized to conduct a special review of the evaluation data. Two sets of systems will be used for back-to-back verification, and each link will be checked one by one according to the prescribed procedural steps to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the score information.

Closed management database of each marking site is backed up twice a day and stored in different places.

This year, all grading venues have implemented closed management. Before starting the grading process, all computer networks, software and hardware systems, and grading application systems should be uniformly installed and tested, with strict information transmission security to prevent virus infection and hacker intrusion. The network connection adopts a local area network form and is physically isolated from the external network to ensure network security and smoothness. Implement security measures such as twice a day backup management and remote storage for the grading database.

Release the college entrance examination results before noon on June 25th

The results of the 2023 Beijing National College Entrance Examination will be released before noon on June 25th, along with the minimum admission control score lines for each batch and the distribution table of scores for all candidates in the city. From 8:00 on June 27th to 17:00 on July 1st, candidates taking the unified examination will fill out their undergraduate preferences, while candidates taking the individual examination will fill out their enrollment preferences. The undergraduate batch admission in Beijing in 2023 will be conducted from July 6th to July 21st. The filling of vocational college preferences will be conducted from July 21st to 22nd, and the vocational college batch admission will be conducted from July 23rd to 29th.
