Multiple residents in residential areas have reported yellowing of tap water
"It's a bit better now, but there's still a little yellow visible in the morning. It's very obvious in the morning." Around 10am on June 12th, Ms. Liu, a resident of Building 3, Zhongrui First City Community, Xuancheng City, opened the faucet in her bathroom's washbasin. The reporter saw that the tap water was slightly yellow to the naked eye. Ms. Liu told reporters that she usually hand washes clothes at home in the morning. When she turned on the tap that morning, she found that the tap water was noticeably yellow, so she didn't dare to wash clothes. She then reported this situation to the property management company.
The staff of Zhongrui First City Community Property Company told Da Wan News reporters that they have received reports from many residents that their tap water has turned yellow, involving multiple buildings. They have reported this issue to the water management company.
Many residents in the Wenhua community of Xuancheng Lidu have reported that the tap water has turned yellow in the property group.
In the Baizhuang community, which is separated from the Zhongrui First City community, property staff said that they had received reports from many residents the day before that the tap water had turned yellow. In the two residential areas of Crocodile City Garden and Lidu Wenhua, not far from the Baizhuang community, property company staff stated that residents had reported yellow tap water three or four days ago. After they gave feedback to the water company, personnel went to the site for disposal.
"At around 9 o'clock this morning, there was still some noticeable yellowing in the water, and it can't be seen now," a resident of Building A4 in the Crocodile City Garden community told reporters. Around 11 o'clock in the morning, the tap water was almost indistinguishable from yellowing.
Relevant units have carried out investigations and disposal
Da Wan News reporters noticed that the geographical locations of Lidu Wenhua, Crocodile City Garden, Baizhuang, and Zhongrui First City Community are almost connected from the south of Xuancheng City to the east of the city.

Over the weekend, the company rushed to the site for disposal, collected water samples for testing, and investigated the cause of the problem. However, the cause cannot be determined yet.
A staff member of the Public Utilities and Municipal Management Department of Xuancheng City Urban Management Bureau told reporters that they attach great importance to the issues reported by residents, and the department and Xuancheng Water Company have been handling this emergency over the weekend. At present, the water company has drained the ends of the community pipeline network and municipal fire hydrants where the situation occurred. The water quality in some communities has improved, and the detailed reasons are still being investigated.
