Since early August, typhoons "Dussuri" and "Kanu" have been heading north one after another, causing continuous rainfall and flooding, resulting in the collapse of some residential buildings in towns such as Jinma Town, Kaiyuan Town, and Qili Township in Shulan City, Jilin Province. On the 23rd, the reporter learned from Shulan City, Jilin Province that the local post disaster housing reconstruction and repair work is expected to be completed by October 20th to ensure that the affected population stays warm during the winter.
At present, Shulan City actively adopts various methods such as scattered reconstruction and centralized reconstruction to implement classified resettlement for the affected population. The relevant person in charge of the post disaster reconstruction command center in Shulan stated that the local area is overcoming challenges such as a short construction period and striving to complete infrastructure construction before winter to ensure that the affected population stays warm during the winter.
On August 16, 2023, in Shulan, Jilin, workers demolished damaged houses. In early August, the northeast of Shulan City, Jilin Province experienced the strongest rainfall process since the beginning of the flood season, causing damage to several villages and towns. The post disaster housing reconstruction work in the local area has been initiated, adopting various methods such as scattered reconstruction, centralized reconstruction, and monetary resettlement to implement classified resettlement for affected households. There are 12 houses in Mofan Village, Kaiyuan Town, Shulan City that need to be demolished and rebuilt. According to Zhao Suchun, the Party Branch Secretary of Mofan Village, appraisal, negotiation, demolition, and construction work are currently underway simultaneously to improve reconstruction efficiency.
As of now, Shulan City has counted 924 affected households that need to be rebuilt, and it is expected to complete all resettlement work before October 20th.
