China Daily, June 14th (Xinhua) - The Times recently fabricated an article citing the views of US State Department personnel, falsely accusing "Wuhan Institute of Virology of creating viruses" and claiming that China is "opaque" in virus tracing issues. The spokesman of the Chinese Embassy in the UK condemned and refuted the British media's speculation about the "laboratory leak" of COVID-19.
As is well known, virus tracing is a complex scientific problem that should and can only be carried out in collaboration with global scientists. "Laboratory leakage is highly unlikely" is an authoritative scientific conclusion drawn by the China WHO joint expert group after visiting relevant laboratories in Wuhan and conducting in-depth exchanges with researchers. It is accurately reflected in relevant joint research reports and has been widely recognized by the international community and scientific community.
This time, some British media were caught up in the dark and had ulterior motives.
