The Osprey will fly in Okinawa, and Australian stealth fighter jets will arrive in Japan for joint training
According to Kyodo News Agency, the Australian Air Force F-35A stealth fighter jet arrived at the Japan Air Self Defense Force Komatsu Base in Ishikawa Prefecture on the 30th. By mid September, the F-35A fighter jets of the two countries will undergo their first joint training. According to the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, the Japanese side is considering conducting joint training with the US Marine Corps in October, allowing the Ground Self Defense Force's Osprey transport aircraft to fly in Okinawa Prefecture for the first time.
On the afternoon of the 30th, at the Komatsu Base of the Japan Air Self Defense Force, officials from the Japanese Ministry of Defense and the Australian Embassy in Japan jointly welcomed the arrival of the Australian Air Force F-35A stealth fighter. The Japanese side claimed that the strengthening of cooperation between Japan and Australia is directly related to regional stability, while the Australian side stated that the deepening of the relationship between the two countries is accelerating, and Japan is an indispensable partner. According to Japanese media reports, defense cooperation between Japan and Australia has continued to strengthen recently, and three security related documents formulated in December last year also stated that "close cooperation relations second only to Japan and the United States will be established.". In August of this year, the Mutual Access Agreement, which simplifies the procedures for the Self Defense Force and the Australian military to carry weapons when visiting each other's countries, came into effect. In the future, Japan will also promote the plan for the Air Self Defense Force F-35 unit to visit Australia for training.

At the same time, the Japan Ground Self Defense Force recently revealed that Japan and the United States plan to conduct joint training from October 14th to 31st, with training ideas for island defense, including battles with ships, planes, and ground forces. There may also be scenes of using "Osprey" transport planes to fly in Okinawa Prefecture for frontline wounded transfer. It is expected that the Ground Self Defense Force will deploy approximately 2800 personnel primarily responsible for governing Kyushu and Okinawa forces, and the US Marine Corps will deploy approximately 1400 personnel for joint training. Since its service, the American Osprey transport plane has experienced frequent accidents and its safety has been questioned. Japanese citizens have repeatedly protested and demanded that the government withdraw its plan to deploy the Osprey within Japan.
