Public information shows that Danmenshan Island is the first uninhabited island in China with clear usage rights. It is located to the east of Dongchen Township in Xiangshan County, facing Danmen Village across the sea. It is about 1 kilometer away from the farthest point of the mainland and about 3 kilometers away from the nearest Dongdan Port. It has been less than half an hour by boat.

The name of Danmen Mountain Island comes from its shape. Auction data shows that Danmen Mountain Island has five peaks. Whenever the sun rises in the east, the shadows of the sun and the island are reflected in the water, forming the character "Dan", hence the name Danmen Mountain Island.

The area of Danmenshan Island is not very large, with a length of 1.82 kilometers and a width of 0.52 kilometers. But it has a unique island scenery. According to previous public reports, the first "island owner" of Danmenshan Island, surnamed Hu, was later transferred to Huang Yimin, Chairman of Ningbo Longgang Industrial Co., Ltd. When Huang Yimin took over, he paid tens of millions of yuan to the original developer and related parties. Later, in 2011, he paid 3.44 million yuan in usage fees to the government through the implementation of supplementary procedures and obtained a usage certificate with a service life of 50 years, which expired on October 10, 2061.

As a result, Huang Yimin obtained China's first uninhabited island use right certificate with the number "11001" issued by the State Oceanic Administration in 2011, becoming the first legally recognized "island owner" of an uninhabited island in China. Because he happens to have the same surname as Huang Yaoshi in martial arts novels, Huang Yimin is also known as the "Yellow Island Lord" in the industry.

According to the grand plan of the "Yellow Island Master" that year, by 2020, the investment amount on the island will not be less than 1 billion yuan, including projects such as beach golf, hot spring resort hotels, beach mud baths, and island film and television shooting bases.

But things are difficult to predict. Due to the poor management and insufficient funds of the company, the "Yellow Island Lord" was listed as a dishonest debtor due to a debt dispute. Not only did he mortgage the island, but he also eventually became a "deadbeat" and had no idea where to end. Danmen Mountain Island had to change ownership in advance.

At 10:00 am on May 26th, the right to use Danmenshan Island and its affiliated assets were publicly auctioned on Taobao, with an estimated price of 39.7719 million yuan and a starting price of 27.85 million yuan. The bidding period was one day, but the auction was unsuccessful due to no one registering to bid.

A few days later, the Ningbo Intermediate People's Court issued a second auction announcement. The starting bid price for Danmen Mountain Island this time has dropped to 22.28 million yuan, and the bidding period is still one day. After 55 rounds of bidding, four bidding investors successfully bid for investor B6915, with a transaction price of 28.68 million yuan lower than the evaluation price by more than 10 million yuan.

The confirmation letter of bidding results on the auction page shows that the winner of the auction to become the new "owner" of Danmen Mountain Island is a natural person named Li Guozhu, and there is currently no more public information about him, which is quite mysterious. He will obtain the right to use the uninhabited island and sea area of Danmenshan Island in Dongchen Township, Xiangshan County, as well as the existing buildings and related facilities on the island.

In 2003, the State Oceanic Administration and the Ministry of Civil Affairs officially implemented the "Regulations on the Protection and Utilization of Non Residential Islands", which explicitly allowed individuals or institutions to develop and utilize non residential islands for a maximum lease period of 50 years.

It should be noted that according to the laws and regulations of our country, uninhabited islands belong to the state, and the State Council exercises the ownership of uninhabited islands on behalf of the state. Individuals or institutions can only apply for the right to use them, and the longest period for the use of uninhabited islands cannot exceed 50 years. The so-called "island owner" only has the right to use rather than ownership.

Due to the high cost and difficult returns of investment, the unmanned island business has long been seen as a "money game" for wealthy people. According to reports, during the construction of the first phase of the hotel on Dayangyu Island, which belongs to Xiangshan, Ningbo, only 60 million yuan was used for power generation. Later, the development was temporarily suspended due to a broken funding chain; The "number one female island owner of Wenzhou" also left in 2009 after five years of development.
