The 2023 Women's World Cup will kick off on July 20th. As the only Chinese referee participating in the enforcement work of this cup, Xie Lijun, an international assistant referee from Sichuan, will participate as the second assistant referee in the group stage match between Spain and Costa Rica in Group C at 3:30 pm Beijing time on the 21st. This is also Xie Lijun's World Cup debut.
FIFA has specially selected a large team of referees consisting of 33 referees, 56 assistant referees, and 18 video assistant referees to officiate this year's Women's World Cup, including 6 female referees who have participated in officiating last year's Men's World Cup.

Chinese international assistant referee Xie Lijun was recommended by AFC to FIFA for her outstanding performance in domestic and international competitions in the past few years, and thus obtained the qualification to officiate in this World Cup. Xie Lijun, who currently works as a teacher at Jinjiang College of Sichuan University, has also become the only Chinese referee participating in the law enforcement work of this World Cup. Her performance deserves the attention of Chinese fans.
