As of the end of June, the number of registered individual industrial and commercial households in China has reached 119 million, accounting for 67.4% of the total number of business entities.
In the first half of 2023, the recovery trend of individual industrial and commercial households in China was obvious, and the overall development was stable, with a total of 11.365 million new households added, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%.
Looking at industries, the tertiary industry accounts for nearly 90%. As of the end of June 2023, the proportion of registered individual industrial and commercial households in the three industries nationwide was 5.1%, 5.9%, and 89%, respectively.
Looking at different industries, the growth rate of newly established individual businesses in emerging service industries is strong. The industries of information transmission, software and information technology services, culture, sports and entertainment, scientific research and technology services have the highest growth rates. In the first half of 2023, there were 4.933 million newly established individual industrial and commercial households in the "Four New" economy, an increase of 19.4% compared to the previous year.
From a regional perspective, out of 119 million individual industrial and commercial households, 42.8% are distributed in the eastern region, with Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces having the highest distribution, both accounting for over 8% of the national total.
It is reported that since the implementation of the "Regulations on Promoting the Development of Individual Industrial and Commercial Households" last year, it has further stimulated the confidence and vitality of the majority of individual industrial and commercial households. The normal operating ratio and revenue level have shown a "double improvement", but production and operation still face many difficulties. The awareness and accuracy of various support policies and measures still need to be improved, and further assistance is needed.
