According to Russian media reports, the Icelandic Embassy in Russia has suspended operations since August 1st local time, and the national flag and embassy nameplate have been removed.
In June, Iceland announced that it would suspend its embassy operations in Russia in August, and bilateral relations were at the "lowest level".

On June 9th local time, the Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to close the Icelandic Embassy in Moscow, Russia from August 1st. According to the Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy is currently closed and any contact with Russia is at its lowest level.
Meanwhile, the Icelandic government believes that Russia will have to minimize the activities of its embassy in Iceland.
The Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this does not mean that political relations between countries will end. Once conditions permit, the embassy will resume opening as soon as possible.
