According to Ukrainian media reports on the 11th, Ukrainian Defense Minister Leznikov signed a memorandum of understanding with 11 defense ministers including Denmark and the Netherlands to establish an F-16 fighter pilot training alliance. According to the memorandum, Ukrainian pilots, technicians, and related support personnel will participate in the training. The Financial Times reported, citing the defense ministers of Denmark and the Netherlands, that the alliance will begin training Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets in August.
Ukraine has repeatedly urged Western countries to provide F-16 fighter jets. The EU previously stated that several countries, including Poland, have started training Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets. The Russian side has repeatedly sent notes to Western countries expressing dissatisfaction with their military support to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov criticized that the United States and NATO directly participated in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, not only providing weapons, but also training Ukrainian soldiers in Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.
