The monorail train jointly constructed by China and Thailand helps to create Bangkok's urban scenic line | Thailand | Train
Bangkok, August 29 (Xinhua) - In the second half of this year, the Thai capital Bangkok added another rail transit scenic line: the "Yellow Line" train project has been put into operation, and the iconic yellow train front and the novel design that seems to "clamp" the track have attracted a lot of attention.
The first monorail train line in Thailand, produced and provided by CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation System Co., Ltd. located in Anwei Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, China, and operated by the Thai side, was officially put into commercial operation in July this year. The total length of the line is 30.4 kilometers, connecting the north and east of Bangkok, and intersecting with multiple urban rail transit lines.
"When I first boarded a monorail train, I felt something unique - it ran smoothly and quietly," said Bangkok resident Surasha, who was waiting for the "yellow line" train on the platform. "Riding a monorail train is convenient, especially during the rainy season."
Bangkok is a globally renowned "city congestion", and "heavy traffic jams" have become commonplace for local residents and tourists, as well as a long-standing livelihood problem that has plagued the government. The newly operated "yellow line" passes through congested areas and urban main roads, effectively alleviating the inconvenience of commuting for residents along the line and making the connection between the suburbs of Bangkok and the city center closer.

"Considering time constraints, taking the 'yellow line' in this area is much more convenient than driving," said passenger Songba. This was the first time he had seen a train with wheels straddling a single track beam, and the innovative design inside the train surprised him even more.
Unlike traditional subways or light rails, the seats in the carriages of monorail trains are more scattered and the space is spacious. The large area of window design ensures sufficient light inside the train, making it convenient for passengers to experience the urban scenery along the way.
Huang Ruiyao, Executive Director of Bangkok Eastern Monorail Co., Ltd., which manages and operates the "Yellow Line," praised trains produced in China. "The entire rail system comes from China... This is different from the system 20 years ago, it is more flexible and has lower costs." Huang Ruiyao said, "Monorail trains bring a new technological experience, and I believe this type of train will become the mainstream way for Thai people to travel in the future.".

Xu Haida, Chairman of CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation System Co., Ltd., told reporters that monorail trains adopt fully automated driving technology, which is more intelligent and efficient; The vehicle adopts a lightweight design with a small turning radius, which is suitable for the transportation needs of Bangkok city; The use of rubber tires provides better stability, reduces noise pollution, and is equipped with intelligent tire pressure monitoring devices and explosion-proof devices, making it safer.

In addition to the already opened "yellow line", another "pink line" jointly operated by Bangkok and CRRC Puzhen Alstom has recently entered the trial operation stage. Xu Haida stated that the company has timely promoted technological optimization based on user feedback on the "yellow line", and believes that the opening of the "pink line" can create a more comfortable riding experience for passengers.
According to local government planning, the total length of rail transit lines under construction in Bangkok and surrounding areas is about 105 kilometers. To build a modern public transportation system, 14 new routes will be added locally and the existing 11 routes will be extended.

Kaitai Research Center Assistant Director Kaiwalin said that once completed and put into operation, these projects will enhance the connectivity of the public transportation system, reduce logistics costs, and bring new business opportunities to the areas along the rail line, bringing benefits to the overall economy.
Kaiwalin believes that as the largest source of foreign direct investment in Thailand, China's target industries for investment in Thailand have shifted towards clean energy generation, zero emission vehicles, smart electronic products, and high-tech services. The achievements of cooperation between the two countries in these fields are commendable.
