The Ministry of National Defense Talks on the Military Relations between China and the United States: Dialogue cannot be without a bottom line
On the afternoon of August 31st, Colonel Wu Qian, Director of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense and spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, answered questions from reporters.
Wu Qian: First of all, I would like to point out that military exchanges between China and the United States are not in a state of interruption, and both sides maintain honest and effective communication through military diplomatic channels. But it must also be acknowledged that there are indeed many difficulties and obstacles in the current relationship between the two armies, and this situation is entirely caused by the United States. For a period of time, the US has been holding onto its erroneous perception of China and conducting unreasonable containment and suppression against China;Frequent deployment of sea and air forces to strengthen military provocation and deterrence around China. In addition, the US has refused to lift the unreasonable sanctions imposed on the leadership of the Central Military Commission. In this situation, it is natural for the Chinese military to carry out resolute countermeasures. We often say that communication cannot be without principles, and dialogue cannot be without bottom lines. The US hopes to harm China's national interests while conducting exchanges with the Chinese military as if nothing had happened, which is completely wishful thinking. There is an ancient Chinese saying: To untie the bell, one must tie the bell. We demand that the United States demonstrate sincerity and take concrete actions to confront China and create conditions for the return of military relations to the right track.
