The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to the talks between Kerry and Xie Zhenhua: China will have in-depth exchanges of views with the United States on climate issues. President | United States | United States
On July 17th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference.
A reporter asked that the US President's climate envoy John Kerry and China's climate change envoy Xie Zhenhua held talks in Beijing this morning. Can you introduce the results of this meeting?
Mao Ning stated that climate change is a common challenge faced by all humanity. As agreed by both China and the United States, the US President's special envoy on climate issues, John Kerry, will visit China from July 16 to 19. China will implement the spirit of the Bali meeting between the two heads of state, exchange in-depth views with the United States on climate change related issues, work together to address challenges, and enhance the well-being of contemporary and future generations.
"We will release timely updates on the specific situation of the visit, and you can also inquire with the Chinese regulatory authorities," said Mao Ning.
