At today's routine press conference of the Ministry of Commerce, a spokesperson stated that in April of this year, China and Australia conducted friendly consultations and reached a consensus on the barley countermeasures dispute under the framework of the World Trade Organization, reflecting the spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation. The Ministry of Commerce has initiated a review of the barley countermeasures in response to applications from relevant domestic industries and actively promoted the investigation process.
The Ministry of Commerce said that at present, the investigating authority has disclosed the basic facts on which the ruling is based to the relevant interested parties according to the requirements of legal procedures, and is recovering the comments of all parties.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, Shu Jueting: The investigating authority will make an objective and fair ruling in accordance with the law, taking into account the opinions of all parties, and issue a public announcement. We are willing to work with the Australian side to continue to address economic and trade concerns in a spirit of dialogue, consultation and cooperation, and jointly promote the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
