The man even inferred that his residence had been stolen across provinces, filming a crime! Blogger posts video sharing daily videos | Feng | Men
After more than two months of following and researching daily life videos shared by short video bloggers, I smelled a good opportunity for theft and entered the house by car, transferring trains, or rowing a small boat. After being sued by the West Lake District Prosecutor's Office, the court recently sentenced the defendant Feng to five years in prison and fined 12000 yuan for theft.
In October 2022, Feng came across a blogger in Hangzhou on a short video platform who enjoyed sharing his daily life.
Feng speculated from the video shared by the blogger that the community should belong to a high-end community, and the blogger should be wealthy. Feng found through a network map that the community was located in the outskirts of the city, surrounded by mountains and water, and had a high price, which led to the intention of theft. Feng prepared backpacks, gloves, rubber boats and other items and departed from his hometown in Guangxi to Hangzhou on December 27th.
On December 28th, Feng arrived in Hangzhou. To avoid surveillance, at around 4 pm, Feng took a taxi to the neighboring community of the target community, then crossed the forest, used a prepared rubber boat to cross the river, and walked a mountain road around to the back mountain of the target community.
At around 6:30 pm that evening, Feng entered the target community through a fence hole and then hid in a house that was being renovated. Through observation, he found that the next door to the house was the blogger's residence. Feng heated himself in the neighboring room by baking a fire. He waited until around 3am on December 29th before using the ladder and rope he found in the renovated room to climb from the blogger's door to the second floor balcony, and then pushed open the balcony door to enter the second floor corridor.
Because Feng had already studied the layout of the house through the video shared by the blogger in advance, he went straight into the target room and stole gold and silver jewelry, branded women's bags, foreign currency, and other items. He also entered the basement and stole four bottles of Maotai liquor.
After obtaining it, Feng left the gate and returned to the neighboring house where he had previously hidden. He put the stolen property into a prepared backpack and put the ladder and rope back in place. At around 6 o'clock, Feng left the community and waited in the nearby mountains until around 10 o'clock before crossing the river on the rubber boat he had previously used and leaving the scene. The next day, Feng left Hangzhou and went to Guangzhou to sell the branded women's bags. Because he thought the stolen gold and silver jewelry was fake, Feng threw it away and took the stolen Maotai liquor and foreign currency back to his hometown for hiding.
At around 12:00 on December 29th, the blogger reported to the police after discovering that their home had been stolen. On January 16, 2023, suspect Feng was arrested in his hometown and confessed to his theft.
On April 21st, the case was transferred to the West Lake District Procuratorate for examination and prosecution. The prosecutor conducted a focused review on the value of the stolen property. After examination, the Xihu District Prosecutor's Office believes that Feng, who secretly stole other people's property at night with the purpose of illegal possession, should be held criminally responsible for theft. On May 19th, he was prosecuted. After trial, in view of Feng's voluntary confession and punishment, the court made the above judgment.
