Left behind Women in Zhuang Township Play "New Agricultural Work" Live Streaming to Sell Fruits and Win Awards Villagers | Qin Airong | Women
Recently, in Xinhe Village, Datong Township, donglan County, Hechi City, Guangxi, a remote mountain village 280 kilometers away from Nanning City, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, villagers Qin Airong and three sisters are busy with "new farming work"-live delivery. At present, it is the mango ripening season in Xinhe Village. Qin Airong and his sisters are bringing goods through live broadcast to help Xinhe Village sell mangoes at a good price.
Qin Airong, born in 1976, is a left-behind woman in Xinhe Village. Her family grows eight mu of Camellia oleifera, also grows mulberry and silkworms, and helps her daughter with her children in her spare time. In June this year, Qin Airong, who had been busy for nearly half of his life, began to "touch the net" and started to carry goods live.
Qin Airong is related to the first secretary of Xinhe Village. Wei Jenny, who served as the first secretary in Xinhe Village from Guangxi Institute of Communications Technology, led Qin Airong and Wei Guishan, villagers of Xinhe Village, and another resident cadre to form a team to participate in the 2023 Guangxi Women's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition in June this year. After 8 days of training, she passed all the way and finally won the first prize of the social track in the e-commerce live broadcast group of the competition.
"The first time I faced the camera, I was in a hurry and didn't know where to put my hands, and Jenny Wei patiently taught us. Later, I went on a tremolo to see and learn how others introduce products, practiced softly at night before going to bed, and slowly became brave enough to face the camera." Qin Airong said in an interview with reporters recently that he used to worry about his low level of education, not to mention live broadcasts, and there were few public appearances.
"At the beginning, Qin Airong was just watching and dared not speak. She pointed the camera at her, and she couldn't say a word." Wei Jenny said that after hard training, on June 27, in the finals, Qin Airong was in a particularly good state, and he was able to adapt to changes and bring the atmosphere of the game to life.
After winning the championship, Qin Airong and Wei Guishan moved from the previous assistant broadcasting to the independent live broadcast with goods. "The villagers in the village all asked us to help them sell fruits live." Qin Airong said that the village used to sell agricultural products, and they were sold on Datong Street. It was difficult to sell them at a good price.
Since August 2020 to Xinhe Village to carry out the first live with goods to help sell unsalable mangoes, Wei Jenny every year to organize students to Xinhe Village to carry out live agricultural and anchor training activities, witnessed the development of Xinhe Village rural anchor.
After taking over as the first secretary in the village this year, Jenny Wei, through visits and investigations, has found candidates for the key training of rural anchors. Ten left-behind women in Xinhe Village have actively participated in the training, and several have been able to independently broadcast live and bring goods.
"Women in the village used to be reluctant to make public appearances, but after seeing us using live streaming to help local farmers sell unsalable agricultural products, they were also eager to try. In 2021, Tan Li, a younger left-behind woman in the village, bravely 'touched the net' to learn live streaming to bring goods." Jenny Wei said that the youngest 32-year-old and the oldest 50-year-old left-behind women in Xinhe Village are now participating in the live broadcast of goods.
Wei Jenny said that live delivery is quietly changing Xinhe Village in northwest Guangxi and the way the villagers live and produce. In addition to traditional farm tools, hoes and sickles, farmers have added a new "farm tool"-mobile phones, and a new "farm work"-live delivery. Villagers are connecting to the outside world through mobile phone cameras.
It is understood that Xinhe Village has 539 households and 2086 people. The village achieved poverty alleviation in 2018. Mango production this year is expected to reach 150000kg.
According to the information provided by the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at present, rural e-commerce has driven more than 730000 people in Guangxi to achieve employment, and a number of e-commerce online red products such as Baise Mango, Beihai Sea Duck Egg, Wuming Wogan, Hengzhou Jasmine Flower and Wuzhou Liubao Tea have emerged.
