The Kremlin refuses to disclose the exact time and location, as Putin will make several overseas visits this autumn
According to the website of Newsweek on August 28th, Russian media reported that Russian President Putin will visit abroad this autumn.
The report points out that this will be Putin's first overseas visit after the death of Wagner Group founder Prigoren in a plane crash on August 23.
TASS reported on August 28th that Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, told reporters that Putin will conduct "several" foreign visits this autumn.
Peskov did not provide a detailed explanation of the exact time and location of Putin's visit. He explained, "For obvious reasons, we don't want to announce these in advance."
According to the report, Putin is likely to visit Türkiye because Peskov confirmed that the presidents of Russia and Turkey will meet.
Peskov said: "The meeting will be held in the near future. We will officially announce it at an appropriate time." He refused to tell reporters where Putin's meeting with President Erdogan of Türkiye would be held.
The report pointed out that there had been rumors that Putin might visit Türkiye, a member of NATO. After the outbreak of the Russian Ukrainian conflict on February 24, 2022, Putin has never been to any NATO member country.
However, the report also quoted Tass News Agency as saying that a diplomat in Türkiye said that Putin and Erdogan would meet in Sochi, Russia, on September 4. Tass did not say whether the diplomat was from Russia or Türkiye.
