The Kremlin first raised the possibility of Prigorn being assassinated: "deliberate atrocities"
On August 30th local time, the Kremlin stated that the investigation into the Wagner organization founder Prigoren plane crash includes the possibility of intentional harm. This is the first time the Kremlin has explicitly stated that Prigoren may have been assassinated.
Kremlin spokesperson Peskov told the media, "It is clear that different versions are being considered, including - you know what we are talking about - for example, deliberate violence." He emphasized, "Let's wait for the results of the Russian investigation."
According to previous reports, on August 23, a private plane crashed in the Tver Oblast north of the Russian capital Moscow, causing 10 deaths, including 3 crew members and 7 passengers. According to the Russian Aviation Administration, the founder of Wagner Group, Prigoren, and commander Utkin, as well as several senior Wagner executives, are all on the passenger list of the crashed plane.
As for the investigation of the plane crash, Peskov said: "First of all, the investigation is in progress, and the investigation committee is involved in the matter." He pointed out that "in this case, there is no room for international discussion."
