The information circulating online that "Hangzhou Asian Games refuses genetically modified foods" is false
Recently, information about the rejection of genetically modified foods at the Hangzhou Asian Games has been circulating online. What is the real situation? The reporter interviewed relevant parties in Zhejiang on relevant issues and inquired with the heads of relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs about the situation.
According to reports from relevant sources in Zhejiang, the Asian Games Organizing Committee has not released any information on the non supply of genetically modified foods, nor has it mentioned any requirements regarding genetically modified foods in the food supply guarantee. The Asian Games emphasizes two aspects of food safety, namely routine food safety assurance and risk prevention and control of foodborne stimulants. The person in charge of relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that as a member unit of the Asian Games Food Supply Safety Working Group, the Ministry has not received any requirements for not providing genetically modified food, nor has it issued any relevant requirements.
