The incident occurred in an undeveloped area, and the Hangzhou landscaping department responded that "the man got lost and trapped in the green belt for 3 days": the grass and trees will be pruned in a timely manner by the management office | green belt | department
Recently, a man in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou got lost in the green belt and survived for three days by eating wild flowers and drinking dew. Netizens have expressed curiosity about the green belt that leaves people lost for three days. On June 21st, staff from the Xiaoshan District Garden and Greening Maintenance Management Office told Jimu News reporters that they are currently investigating the location of the incident, but the video shows lush trees and weeds, unlike the long-term maintenance of the green belt, suggesting that it is an undeveloped area.
According to the article on "Xiaoshan Public Security" WeChat official account, on the morning of June 5, Mr. Zhao, a Hangzhou citizen, reported to the Xiaoshan Ningwei Police Station that his brother had lost contact for three days. It is reported that his older brother, Uncle Zhao, is 52 years old and works at a construction site. He left the site early on June 3rd and did not return. His family searched for a long time but did not receive anything, so they had to seek help from the police.
The police are searching for people in the green belt
The Ningwei Police Station immediately retrieved surveillance footage and found that Uncle Zhao disappeared after entering the green belt near the elevated road. The green belt here has a vast area and lush vegetation. It is indeed possible to get lost if you venture deeper. The on-site police immediately launched a carpet style search, not leaving every corner, and finally found the weak Uncle Zhao in a thicket of trees.
The police learned that Uncle Zhao had not been working in Xiaoshan for long. On the day of the incident, he went out alone to buy breakfast. Due to unfamiliarity with the environment, he accidentally entered the green belt and was trapped. He did not bring his phone and could not seek help. These days, he survived by eating wild flowers and drinking dew. After confirming that Uncle Zhao was in good health, the police escorted him safely back to his family.

After Uncle Zhao's experience was released by the media, it became a hot search topic. Some netizens said, "This is not a green belt, it's the Qinling Mountains." Some netizens expressed curiosity and wanted to know how big the green belt is that makes people lose their way.
On the afternoon of June 21st, a journalist from Jimu News called the Xiaoshan Ningwei Police Station where the incident occurred. The staff said that it was inconvenient to disclose the exact address of the incident.
The staff of the Xiaoshan District Garden and Greening Maintenance Management Office told reporters that they have also learned about the relevant reports of the incident and are currently investigating the green belt involved. The maintenance area of its unit green belt is about 5 million square meters, and the trees and surface vegetation in the green belt are trimmed to prevent them from growing recklessly. Although there may be omissions in the maintenance of green belts, it is generally unlikely that large-scale green belt vegetation is left unattended. From the videos and pictures released by the police, it can be seen that the vegetation and weeds at the site of the incident are overgrown, unlike the green belt that has been maintained for a long time. The staff speculated that the incident may have occurred around public green spaces or undeveloped construction land.
