The highest temperature in Beijing today has reached 40 ℃! The observatory has exceeded 40 ℃ for two consecutive days for the first time in 62 years since its establishment. China Meteorological Administration | Weather | Station Establishment
In response to the sustained high temperature weather in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, the China Meteorological Administration held a press conference on the afternoon of the 23rd.
Zhang Yingxin, the chief forecaster of the Municipal Meteorological Observatory, said that as of 14:00 today, the temperature at the Southern Suburb Observatory has reached 40 ℃, appearing at 13:36; Among the 556 meteorological monitoring stations in the city, 305 have a maximum temperature of 39 ℃ or above, and 158 have a maximum temperature of 40 ℃ or above; "This is the first time since the establishment of the observatory that there have been two consecutive days of high temperatures exceeding 40 ℃."
The high temperature this time has a strong intensity and a long duration, and its main causes are as follows: Firstly, starting from the 21st, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region has been controlled by a warm air mass, which has a relatively strong intensity and a long impact time; Secondly, under the control of high-pressure ridges, the sky is clear with few clouds and no cloud cover, making the radiation warming more powerful and promoting warming; Thirdly, as we have just entered the summer solstice season, the daylight is the longest, and prolonged sunlight is conducive to the occurrence and maintenance of high temperatures; The fourth is that low air humidity and dry weather are also conducive to an increase in temperature.
Zhang Yingxin stated that the hot weather will continue in the next two days, and it is expected that this round of hot weather will end on the 26th.
