On July 21st, the "Future Has Arrived · Gravity in the Bay" network themed wind gathering team visited Zhongshan City to conduct on-site visits to the Zhongshan Bridge section of the Shenzhen China Corridor, and had a close encounter with the "Shenzhen China Dragon" to understand the important role of the Shenzhen China Corridor in the integrated development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.

At present, the bridge engineering and underwater tunnel of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage have been completed and are expected to be completed and opened to traffic by 2024. The Shenzhong Tunnel starts from Hezhou Interchange in Bao'an District, Shenzhen City in the east and ends at Hengmen Hub in Cuiheng New District, Zhongshan City in the west, with a total length of 24 kilometers, including a 6.8 kilometer long immersed tube tunnel.

According to Zhong Huihong, deputy director of Shenzhen China Channel Management Center, during the construction of Shenzhen China Channel, the construction team learned from the construction experience of Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, as well as the tunnel construction experience of Türkiye, South Korea and other countries. Based on the actual situation in Lingdingyang, the design scheme of "West Bridge and East Tunnel" is adopted for the Shenzhong Channel. The eastern section near Shenzhen adopts the construction method of underwater immersed tube tunnel, with the construction of an artificial island as the entrance and exit of the eastern section tunnel.
Zhong Huihong also said that the Shenzhen China Channel has made full use of the resources in the design scheme, construction equipment and construction team for the construction of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, and has adopted more advanced Internet technology, more sophisticated equipment, which has shortened the construction period and saved construction costs.

During a visit to the Zhongshan Bridge section of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Expressway, Zhong Huihong introduced to the mining team that many construction projects of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Expressway have become "the most in the world". For example, the anchoring of offshore suspension bridges and the reserved net height for navigation are all "the highest in the world". The Zhongshan Bridge section of the Shenzhong Passage features a single tower column poured with approximately 42000 cubic meters of concrete, connected to the main tower and bridge deck by 120 diagonal cables, resembling a harp jumping over the sea. In March of this year, the Zhongshan Bridge completed the steel bridge deck paving, setting a world record for hot mix epoxy asphalt steel bridge deck paving.
The Lingdingyang Bridge is a fully floating three span suspension bridge with a main span of 1666 meters. The main tower is 270 meters high, equivalent to a 90 story building height, and the navigation clearance height is 76.5 meters. It is the world's largest offshore suspension bridge and the highest navigation clearance sea bridge.

After the opening of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage, the fastest driving time from Zhongshan to Shenzhen is about 20 minutes. In addition, Shenzhen and Zhongshan are actively exploring integrated intercity passenger transportation solutions between the two cities, and are waiting for the opening of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Corridor to synchronize the opening of intercity public transportation between Shenzhen and Zhongshan.
Referring to the significance of the Shenzhen China Channel after its completion, Zhong Huihong said that the Shenzhen China Channel is a transportation link between the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. In the future, it will shorten the travel distance from Zhongshan to Shenzhen, Hong Kong and other places, deepen the building of a "golden inner bay" life circle at the the Pearl River Port, and make Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Macao and other places more closely connected.
The construction of the Shenzhen China Channel has entered the final stage. In the future, as the "Shenzhen China Dragon" leaps on both sides of the the Pearl River, the integration of Shenzhen and China and the "Golden Inner Bay" industrial connectivity of the the Pearl River Port will accelerate, which is of great strategic significance for promoting the integrated development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration.
