On September 3rd, 78 years ago, the Chinese people achieved a great victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan. In this arduous struggle, there are both flesh and blood battles on the open battlefield and special battles on the hidden front.

On the invisible battlefield, countless revolutionary martyrs on hidden fronts delve deep into the Tiger Cave and Dragon Pond to obtain important intelligence and cooperate with the open battlefield. They endured humiliation, shed their blood, and sacrificed their lives in the enemy camp surrounded by tigers and wolves, writing a heroic and intense song of dedication for the country and people.

Intelligence cooperation kills the Japanese "Flower of Famous Generals"

In 1939, after the Anti Japanese War entered a strategic stalemate stage, the Japanese aggressors carried out large-scale military attacks and brutal "sweeping" of the anti Japanese base areas behind enemy lines in North China. In October 1939, our Laiyuan Intelligence Station obtained an accurate plan for the Japanese army to carry out a winter "sweeping" of the Beiyue District by infiltrating Comrade Ji Cheng from the Japanese intelligence department.

According to this intelligence, in early November, the Jin Cha Ji troops of the Eighth Route Army successfully carried out two consecutive ambush and encirclement battles at Yansuya and Huangtuling in Laiyuan County, Hebei Province, annihilating more than 1500 enemy soldiers. The so-called "flower of famous Japanese generals", the commander of the Japanese Independent Mixed Second Brigade, and Lieutenant General Abe Yuki were killed by my artillery fire.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission sent congratulatory messages to the Jin Cha Ji Military Region, and intelligence officers such as Ji Cheng who provided important information in this campaign were also commended by the organization.

On June 22, 1941, fascist Germany tore up the Non Aggression Treaty between the Soviet Union and Germany, and "lightning" invaded the Soviet Union, leading to the outbreak of the Soviet German War.

A few months later, during the extremely difficult moment of defending Moscow, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union sent a top secret telegram to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China thousands of miles away, expressing "extreme gratitude".

In order to attack the Soviet Union, Hitler formulated the "Barbarossa Plan" and decided to launch a full-scale attack on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. Unexpectedly, this top secret news was timely obtained by Yan Baohang, an intelligence officer of the CPC. An early warning message that "Hitler decided to attack the Soviet Union within a week or so on June 20" was reported to Zhou Enlai's desk in Chongqing Southern Bureau.

Zhou Enlai integrated intelligence from Pan Hannian's "imminent outbreak of the Soviet German war" and telegraphed the exact time of the German army launching the war to the Central Committee of the Yan'an Party on June 16. The Central Committee of the Party immediately telegraphed Stalin. Later, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union sent a special telegram to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Mao Zedong, stating that this intelligence enabled the Soviet Red Army to enter combat readiness 24 hours earlier.

On November 1, 1995, Russia awarded Yan Baohang the "50th Anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War" commemorative medal, thanking him for his important contributions to the victory of the World Anti Fascist War.

A key intelligence report on the Pacific situation

After the outbreak of the Soviet German War, the world's anti fascist war entered a critical period.

At this time, there was a strategic dispute within the Japanese ruling group over whether to "advance south to open up the Pacific battlefield" or "advance north to attack the Soviet Union and cooperate with Germany". The victory or defeat of the Soviet Union's anti fascist war had a huge impact on the people of the world and the revolutionary cause of China. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China repeatedly sent urgent messages to various intelligence systems, requesting the collection of strategic movements of the Japanese army.

The Pan Hannian Intelligence System, directly under the Central Intelligence Department, commanded the Japanese Communist Party member Zhongxi Gong Intelligence Group. In the second half of 1941, they obtained advance strategic intelligence on the Japanese army's upcoming southward advance and fully obtained the specific deployment of the Japanese army's southward journey to the Pacific and Southeast Asia.

These important pieces of intelligence have effectively served the Party Central Committee to correctly grasp the battlefield situation and proactively respond to changes in the situation, making indelible contributions to the victory of China's Anti Japanese War and the World Anti Fascist War.

The secret forces that infiltrated the Japanese puppet regime

In order to obtain insider information about the Japanese puppet regime, the party's covert front successfully deployed a group of secret forces within the Japanese puppet regime.

Guan Lu was a famous talented female writer in the 1930s, who was on par with Ding Ling, Zhang Ailing, and others. When she was engaged in anti Japanese literature and art on the "isolated island" of Shanghai, she shook the country with the cry "I would rather die in battle for my motherland than be a national survivor". In the winter of 1939, she was dispatched by the organization to infiltrate the headquarters of the Wang puppet special agents at "No. 76", to cooperate with Pan Hannian in plotting against the spy leader Li Shiqun and collecting intelligence from the Japanese puppet regime.

In addition, during the Wang puppet regime, the Central Intelligence Department dispatched Wang Jinyuan to infiltrate Wang Jingwei's side and serve as his private secretary; Dispatch Li Shiyu to infiltrate Chen Gongbo's side, serving as a pseudo legislator and director of military law, becoming Chen Gongbo's "trusted confidant"; Dispatch Xu Chuguang to infiltrate the enemy and serve as the Secretary of the Intelligence Bureau of the Pseudo Military Commission. They cleverly occupied the core and crucial parts of the Wang puppet regime and obtained a large amount of insider intelligence.

In Northeast China, the Central Intelligence Department pulled out a group of high-ranking officials from the puppet Manchukuo and established an intelligence organization called the Northeast Youth Anti Japanese Salvation Association. The members included Zhang Mengshi, the son of the puppet Manchukuo Prime Minister Zhang Jinghui, his nephew Zhang Shaowei, and Pu Yi's nephew Xian Dong. "Dongqing Rescue" has made important contributions to our party's grasp of the military and political dynamics of the puppet Manchukuo, cooperation with the liberation of Northeast China, and the crackdown on Kuomintang spies and residual reactionary forces of the puppet Manchukuo. It has been highly praised by the Party Central Committee.

On September 2, 1945, the surrender ceremony of Japan to the Allied forces was held on the battleship "Missouri" in Tokyo Bay, and the difficult resistance war finally won.
