The first zero carbon emission tourist boat in Pujiang has been delivered, helping to build a "urban water reception hall"
Recently, the first new energy pure electric cruise ship "Shanghai Jiushi" on the Huangpu River, equipped with a new energy power system independently developed by the 704th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Corporation, has been delivered, fully launching the green and zero carbon upgrade and replacement of Pujiang cruise ships.
The "Shanghai Jiushi" tourist boat is invested by Shanghai Pujiang Tourism Group, a subsidiary of Shanghai Jiushi Tourism Group, and carefully designed and built by the 702nd Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. It has a total length of 41.51 meters, a width of 10.9 meters, a capacity of 150 passengers, and a wind resistance level of 7. Featuring a large area of glass yacht crystal design, it offers a clear and stylish view. Especially equipped with the self-developed all lithium battery power system of 704 Institute for the first time, it has become the first "zero emission, low noise, and pollution-free" high-end new energy water sightseeing boat on the Huangpu River.
The reporter learned that based on long-term research and accumulated technical experience in the field of "ship DC comprehensive electric propulsion", 704 Institute has tailored this standard new energy power integration system for the "Shanghai Jiushi" ship, which has four major technical advantages and characteristics:
High safety and high energy density. The power battery system has the characteristics of safety, efficiency, lightweight, reasonable storage space, and convenient layout. Its battery management system achieves battery status monitoring, status analysis, safety protection, as well as energy control and battery information management functions through a three-level architecture.
High safety protection for DC distribution systems. The connection between the left and right busbars of the fully redundant DC distribution board adopts a fuse with an isolation switch, which can quickly act in the event of a DC bus short circuit. While accurately and quickly cutting off the short circuit fault, the non fault side busbars can provide continuous power supply; At the same time, relying on multi-dimensional control algorithms, ensuring the control accuracy and fast power limitation of the propulsion system, the entire ship has good reliability, stability, and safety.
Non polluting, low noise, low vibration. The entire ship meets the Level III requirements for green vibration noise. The battery, as the only power source on the ship, eliminates noise and vibration at the power supply end. The propulsion system uses permanent magnet motors to further reduce vibration noise.

Highly automated and compatible with high performance. The new energy power system of this ship is equipped with a high-performance "brain" - a comprehensive control system, which integrates energy control, propulsion control, monitoring and alarm, and remote monitoring, achieving high automation of the new energy power system. One click control and data monitoring of the entire ship's energy source can be achieved in the control room of the cab. The human-machine interface is friendly and easy to operate, which improves the acceptance of the ship's new energy power system.
704 Institute is currently a power system integrator with strong integrated design capabilities, rich engineering application experience, and complete after-sales service solutions in the field of new energy ships in China, and has achieved multiple leading domestic technological breakthroughs. For example, the application of pure battery power systems for Yangtze River official ships and bulk carriers has been completed for the first time, and the application of oil electric hybrid power systems for port tugboats has been completed for the first time, filling multiple domestic gaps. According to statistics, the institute has provided new energy power systems for various types of ships, including cruise ships, government ships, bulk carriers, container ships, and scientific research ships. At the same time, it has undertaken more than 60 pure battery powered ships.
It is understood that there are currently more than 50 types of ships that undertake sightseeing in Pujiang, mostly powered by conventional fuel. If all new energy propulsion is adopted, carbon emissions will be reduced by thousands or even tens of thousands of tons annually, and there will be no emissions of atmospheric pollutants such as SO2, NOx, and PM2.5 during navigation.
In order to implement the national "dual carbon" strategy, Shanghai has formulated the "Shanghai Huangpu River Suzhou Riverside Public Space Regulations". The Regulations propose to "build the areas along the Huangpu River and Suzhou River into world-class waterfront areas", "build a public space system that connects the Huangpu River and Suzhou River in all aspects, with beautiful scenery and ecological green, and promote the areas along the river to become livable and tourism friendly living and development belts", and make every effort to create "urban water reception halls".
Shanghai Pujiang Tourism Group is an early established, large-scale, comprehensive and strong Huangpu River tourism enterprise with a wide range of business categories. In recent years, under the leadership of Jiushi Group, we have implemented the "Regulations", accelerated the upgrading of ship types, implemented the "zero emissions, low noise, and no pollution" strategy, and invested heavily in the construction of new energy powered tourist boats.
The delivery of the "Shanghai Jiushi" vessel is of milestone significance for Shanghai to create a "green, environmentally friendly, and zero carbon" riverside water area and promote the high-quality development of Shanghai's water tourism industry. With the upgrading and replacement of Pujiang tourist boats, the "Urban Water Reception Hall", the business card of Shanghai, will become even more dazzling and brilliant.
