The first ship in Asia! Capable of operating continuously at sea for 15 years without returning to dock | Hull | Asia
On August 17th, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that the first cylindrical "offshore oil and gas processing plant" in Asia, the "Offshore Oil 122" floating production, storage, and unloading unit, independently designed and built by China, has completed its hull construction in Qingdao, achieving a breakthrough in the research and development and manufacturing capabilities of China's deepwater ultra large offshore oil and gas equipment.
"Offshore Oil 122" consists of functional modules on the hull and deck, with a maximum diameter of about 90 meters. The main deck area is equivalent to 13 standard basketball courts, with a maximum displacement of 100000 tons and a maximum oil storage capacity of 60000 tons. It can operate continuously at sea for 15 years without returning to dock.

The device adopts a new cylindrical structure design, which is relatively less steel consumption, better overall stability, and strong resistance to adverse sea conditions compared to traditional ship structures, effectively improving economic applicability.
The project team overcame a series of difficulties in the design of production equipment systems and high-precision construction under typhoon sea conditions, successfully mastered 8 key construction technologies, innovatively adopted digital methods such as 3D simulation loading, and achieved a 100% success rate in the one-time positioning of the ship's closure. The dimensional tolerance did not exceed 6 millimeters, and the accuracy control reached the international advanced level.

The next step of "Offshore Oil 122" will enter the stage of final assembly and integration. After completion next year, it will serve in Liuhua Oilfield in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, providing a new choice for the economic and efficient development of deepwater oil and gas fields in China.
