The fireworks image representing "the most Chengdu" shines in the night sky and night sky | Golden Mangle | Chengdu
China Youth Daily, Chengdu, August 8th - Tonight, Chengdu Open Air Music Park, accompanied by a sky full of fireworks, represented by golden mangoes, doves, and peace doves... represents the most Chengdu and Chinese imagery shining in the night sky. The 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade has come to an end.
Cai Canhuang, the chief designer of the fireworks at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Chengdu Universiade, said that compared to the grand and solemn opening ceremony, the closing ceremony of the Chengdu Universiade is more like a youth concert for college students from all over the world. Therefore, the fireworks performance is more relaxed and casual, and is more closely integrated with the rhythm of the music on site.
Through design, Cai Canhuang cleverly linked the opening and closing ceremonies: in the fireworks performance of the opening ceremony, the ignition scheme of the main torch tower is that the torchbearer lights the sacred flame and rises it into the air, forming 12 golden rays that extend all the way to the main torch tower. At the closing ceremony, the Universiade flame was extinguished, and 12 golden rays gathered behind the center of the stage, igniting a giant mesh screen that was 21 meters high and 31 meters long. In the night sky, a huge Gong Tong flower bloomed.
Cai Canhuang believes that fireworks should be an expression of ideas and creativity, a medium for transmitting information, and a memory point with local characteristics.
Therefore, the Gongtong flower has become a unique visual language expression in Sichuan - because this flower is unique to Sichuan and comes from the "giant panda of the plant kingdom" 60 million years ago, symbolizing purity and peace.
In recent years, in order to design the fireworks for the Universiade, Cai Canhuang often came to Chengdu, sometimes staying for two to three months. He felt the "great inherent charm" of the city of Chengdu.
"Many sparks were generated, which ultimately led to the expected effect." Looking back, Cai Canhuang felt that this was a "two-way journey" between himself and Chengdu, and such sparks would shine in the night sky of Chengdu, becoming a unique summer memory.
