The fact is repeatedly criticized, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Japanese government will "wash away" the contaminated water from Fukushima nuclear power. Wang Wenbin | Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On June 7th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin presided over a regular press conference.
A reporter asked, according to Japanese media reports, a report recently released by Tokyo Electric Power Company showed that the radioactive elements in the body of the sea fish, Sebastian Hsu, caught in the harbor of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in May this year exceeded the standard, with cesium content reaching 18000 becquerels per kilogram, exceeding 180 times the standard set by Japan's food hygiene law. May I ask if the spokesperson has any comments on this?
Wang Wenbin's data chart shows that the Japanese government has repeatedly whitewashed Fukushima nuclear contaminated water, claiming that the water quality is harmless and the discharge is reasonable, and treating discharge into the sea as the only option for disposing of nuclear contaminated water. However, the facts have been repeatedly refuted.

Wang Wenbin said that there are many voices in the international community questioning why Japan does not directly discharge nuclear contaminated water into domestic lakes if it is truly as safe and harmless as Japan claims? Why insist on building and rushing to start the sea discharge tunnel? The answer given by Japan's own expert committee is very clear: discharging into the sea is the most cost-effective and poses the least pollution risk to Japan itself. This kind of practice of making the world pay for it in order to save money is extremely selfish and irresponsible.
Wang Wenbin emphasized that the ocean is a public property of the world, not Japan's sewer. Regarding the disposal of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, Japan has no other choice. The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has proposed five solutions, and experts from neighboring countries have also proposed safer and more secure solutions such as long-term storage. However, the Japanese government unilaterally decided to discharge nuclear contaminated water into the ocean without fully demonstrating other disposal options. This approach, which is for the sake of our own interests and harms the common interests of all mankind, cannot convince domestic and foreign people, and will only make Japan ashamed, harm the people of neighboring countries and Pacific island countries, and further undermine Japan's trust in the international community.
