The Chinese representative strongly refutes that certain countries have made false evaluations of Hong Kong's national security laws in the Human Rights Council
On June 26th, at the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council, an interactive dialogue was held with the Special Rapporteurs on the independence of judges and lawyers. In response to some countries' false evaluation of Hong Kong's national security laws, the representative of China expressed a firm stance and strongly refuted it.
The representative of China pointed out that the independence of judges and lawyers plays an important role in human rights judicial protection. China is committed to ensuring that every citizen enjoys fairness and justice in judicial cases, and supports the United Nations, especially its human rights mechanisms, in carrying out their work in this field in a fair, objective, and credible manner.

The representative of China emphasized that after the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has entered a new stage from chaos to governance, and the rule of law has been re highlighted, and the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong residents have been better protected. The rule of law and judicial independence in Hong Kong are protected by the Basic Law, and the courts conduct trials independently without any interference. China firmly opposes any country or external forces interfering in China's internal affairs and judicial sovereignty under the pretext of human rights.
