A series of mistakes in military discipline have exposed the ugly behavior of Taiwanese officers who are greedy for small profits! According to Taiwan's "China Times News Network" and other Taiwanese media reports today, after Lin Dizhi, the Chief of Staff of the "Army Kinmen Defense Command," was sentenced to a heavy sentence for sending home a 7990 yuan unit washing machine for personal use, five senior military officers and non commissioned officers, including Lin Youbai, the Chief of Staff of the "Matsu Coast Patrol Corps," sent 64 boxes of canned food worth more than 50000 yuan back to the island to send to relatives and friends. The case was investigated by the Taiwan Shilin District Prosecutor's Office and charged Lin Youbai and five others with crimes such as "embezzlement of public property.".

According to Taiwanese media reports, the indictment states that Lin Youbai served as the Chief of Staff of the Matsu Coast Guard of the Jin Ma Peng Branch of the Taiwan Oceanic Commission from September 2021 to May 2023, assisting in commanding matters within the team. As a result, it was learned that the annual military canned food allocated by the Taiwan Defense Department has not been used up and will expire. Lin Youbai secretly instructed his subordinates to transport military canned food used for receiving groups and not resold or gifted to others from the team's warehouse to the island in batches from January, April, and October 2022.
The report mentioned that Lin Youbo instructed two other Taiwanese military officers to exchange the cardboard boxes of military canned food, and to transport 64 boxes of Taiwanese food canned goods back to the island in batches using the "Taiwan Horse Star" transportation ship, distributing them to relatives and friends. This year, the Ma Zu garrison officers and soldiers wrote on the beach that "there is no meat in the Ma Fang kitchen", which was exposed.
It is worth mentioning that in March this year, the Taiwan Army's "Matsu Defense Command" stationed troops had to eat rice and canned food for several days due to a shortage of meat. During this period, it is suspected that some officers and soldiers wrote "protests" such as "there is no meat in the horse defense department's pantry, and when they are hungry, they can only eat canned food" on a prominent beach in the defense zone, causing a huge uproar on the island.
